The Lifeforce Hurricane Strikira

Strikira (Real name Jenna Ronfauni) is one of Australia's most well known superheroes, a valiant defender of the innocent and one of the premier hand to hand combat specialists around. Using her lifeforce manipulation abilities, training in various martial arts, and her legal background, she protects the streets from violent crime, breaks up organized criminal rackets and combats superpowered threats both in her home country and overseas. She inspires a whole new generation of superheroes to make their presents home both in Australia and around the world.

History

Origin

Jenna Ronfauni was just an above average academic achiever, studying law at a Sydney university, while also a part of a mentorship program as a paralegal at a well known law firm in her state. Things were looking up until a nasty leak of government files and documents was broadcasted over the net and national media, which compromised several Australian military operations overseas.

Her twin brother Joshua Ronfauni, a military engineer working for the Australian Defence Force’s research and development division, was named in the leaked files as part of an ongoing combat trial in a foreign country. As a result of this leak, her brother and members of his unit were supposedly killed in a reprisal attack, as a direct result of them being compromised.

Heartbroken and in mourning over the death of her twin brother, Jenna bravely attended the trial of the leakers behind her pain, only to watch as her own government manipulated the court system in order to protect their new valuable assets, with the leakers either being given vastly reduced sentences, or outright pardoned over their actions and given comfortable positions within the Australian Intelligence Agencies.

Jenna would turn to various vices to ease her grief, drinking, late night raving, and crying herself to sleep at night over the loss of who she considered her best friend. Several months later, her law firm would be tangled in a major court case, where she interviewed and gathered evidence in the defense of a high profile whistleblower, regarding illegal backroom deals and corruption within the Australian Defense Force and ties to major arms manufacturers based out of the United States.

The case was air tight, with almost a certain chance that her firm would win the case against the government in a public trial. However this was not to be, as judges were swapped out, the case sealed behind a closed courtroom; and the government having manufactured evidence against the whistleblower in order to make them out to be the perfect scapegoat. Seeing her client led away in handcuffs by the end of it; awoken something inside Jenna, never again would she allow the innocent to be treated in such a way.

She took up a new hobby at first, attending a local dojo run by a Japanese Akita by the name of Shichiro Kazuo, as a way to vent out her daily frustrations; but secretly was learning the skills she needed to be proficient in hand to hand combat. Within a year, she started her one woman vigilante crusader against corruption and organized white collar crime within Sydney; all while dressed in a black body suit and motorcycle helmet.

While her exploits were effective in targeting key individuals and exposing them before the public eye; running battles with criminals and corrupt security details was taking a toil on her body and mind; as it was increasingly becoming harder to hide her bruises and wounds. It would be her dojo master Kazuo catching her breaking into the dojo one night to clean and treat a gunshot wound she took, who would finally confront her on her activities.

Venting to her master, she explained her past traumas and how she didn’t want what happened to her brother and that one whistleblower; happening to anyone else, seeing how it was her sole duty and the only way to protect others. Kazuo listened while treating her wound and removing the bullet, then explained that going after the corrupted business men and political figures was important; she was forgetting about the community she lived in.

Kazuo talked about how corruption wasn’t the only evil out there. The rise of supervillains and street-level crime was clear and present. If she only focused on tackling one problem, she neglects the other. Kazuo encouraged Jenna that to really make a difference, she needed to be a hero that her community could rally behind, a beacon of hope.

When Jenna asked how she could do that when she barely could hold her own against armed security, Kazuo surprised her by placing his hand on her open bullet wound, then with a bright flash of green light, healed her wound within mere seconds. Dumbfounded by what she just saw; Kazuo smiled and revealed that he was once a superhero himself, under the name of Striker, a master of life force manipulation who proudly protected his homeland of Japan for over 50 years.

But now, having moved out to Australia, he was retired, and had no worthy successor to carry on his work; until Jenna showed up. With a smile, the Akita took Jenna under his wing, teaching her not only how to manipulate life force energy herself, but advanced fighting techniques that he learnt over the years.

He even helped her craft her own superhero suit, modeled off the original Striker suit, but more to Jenna’s liking. Soon enough, the hero known as Strikiria was born, a form not only to combat the corrupt underbelly of New South Wales, but as a hero that would truly stand for Australian values, and make criminals and villains alike dread hearing her catchphrase… “Do…You… Dare?!”

For years she protected Sydney from crime and villainy, inspiring the next generation of local superheroes to step up and follow in her footsteps. But soon her efforts to tackle corruption found a new lead in the United States, with ties to an organization responsible for what happened to her brother.

Having graduated with her law degree, Jenna entrusted her homeland to the other heroes that rose up, and flew off to set up shop as a public defender in the US, giving her a base of operation to continue her hero work.

Abilities

Superpowers

Life Force Manipulation: Strikira has the natural ability to tap into the life force energy within herself and the surrounding environment. She can use it in four different ways:

Life Force Boosting: Can boost herself in one of three aspects, strength, durability or agility. When boosting strength she can lift close to 2 tons with extreme effort. When boosting durability she can go toe to toe with even the toughest physical opponents. When boosting agility she can run at sustained ground speeds of over 60 mph in short bursts with moderate exhaustion.

Life Force Energy Projection: Can unleash bolts or concentrated beams of life force energy to push back or blast opponents or objects. Can also infuse her fists or feet with the same energy to enhance her strikes. Her most powerful version of said blast is the Life Force Magnum, which is powerful enough to blast through thick layers of steel.

Life Force Healing: Can use her own life force to heal either herself, or those around her via touch. By placing her hands upon them, she can focus her energy and either stabilize a wounded individual, or completely heal them from physical injuries.

Life Force Senses: Can detect naturally occurring life force energies in the surrounding area; which allow her to sense the presence of living things. This is especially helpful when operating in areas that are stripped or lacking green spaces; as she can more easily sense an individual nearby.

Non Superpowered Abilities

Peak Level Physical Performance Strikira keeps herself in relatively top shape as best she can, often by sparring with other fellow superheroes when she can.

Legal Knowledge Being a public defender and former paralegal, Jenna has specialized legal knowledge which assists in her investigations into criminal organizations; as well as determining if a crime has been committed or not.

Close Quarters Combat Specialist Be it with tonfas or her own two fists, Strikira is a trained hand to hand combat specialist; skilled at technical wrestling, takedowns, and various martial arts. To quote one of her opponents, she can kick real fast and punch real hard.

Small Arms Trained Strikira is trained on the use of firearms, having gotten her firearm training from self defense courses. She is a skilled shot with a pistol, and often packs special taser ammo for stopping stronger opponents in their tracks in a non fatal manner.

Pressure Point Striker Strikira is a master of Seimei hakai, an old world martial art that roughly translates to Life-disruption. She can attack the pressure points on an individual in order to disable their limbs and motor function temporarily, or straight up cause temporary paralysis in their nervous system. This is especially effective at crowd controlling large groups or a more stubborn opponent.

Weaknesses

Not the stench! Strikira’s sensitive wolf nose is great for tracking individuals, but her acute sense of smell makes her weak against powerful overwhelming odors and scents; often causing her to become dizzy, gag, become overwhelmed or even be knocked out by said stench. She also hates the icky feeling of being stenched as well by said odors; which can force her to disengage from combat if it becomes too overwhelming on her.

Life Force drain Her life force manipulation abilities require her to tap into her own life force and that of the surrounding area. This means that if she is in an area that has little to no surrounding life force energy to tap into (example heavily urban areas with no nature parks or public gardens); she will be forced to tap into her own life force reserves. As a result she will get exhausted and even risk hurting herself from constant tapping into her reserves.

Ringing the dinner bell Another drawback to her life force manipulation is its risk of attracting entities that feed or leech off such powers, with the use of her powers effectively broadcasting her position to them if she is within 5 miles of said entities.

Compromising holds When Strikira first started out, she had no wrestling knowledge, which got her in a lot of trouble with skilled grapplers. While she is a bit more skilled now in technical wrestling, she still has trouble against grapplers that are skilled at holds such as bearhugs, giant swings and holds that restrain most or all of her limbs.

Psyched Out Jenna prides herself at maintaining focus in combat or concentrating when using her abilities. While she has had experience dealing with mental, emotional attacks and distractions, she still can be thrown off her rhythm if her opponent knows how to get to her. This could range from tickling her mid combat or flirting with her in a lewd manner to make her flustered, to being hypnotized stupid or heavily charmed into submission.

Known Equipment

Heavy Duty Tonfas Tough, durable and hard-hitting, Strikira carries a pair of these tonfas which are made out of a combination of metal, rubber and heavy plastic. It comes with their own holsters.

Tazer Shock Tonfas One of the newest editions to her equipment and one she can swap her regular tonfas for . These are specifically designed weapons with a rubber grip handle and metal shaft which glows yellow when active. A hit from one of these tonfas will deliver a brief 25,000 volt shock, which is around half the voltage delivered by a standard issue police taser. Like her other tonfas, it also comes with their own holsters.

Steel Expandable Batons Backup batons which while rarely used, offer her an extra edge against multiple attackers. These batons can extend outwards at the flick of a wrist, due to the durable police grade friction-lock design. She carries two of them within a small carrying pouch on her belt. They are only used if her tonfas are destroyed, rendered impossible to use, or fighting hand to hand with her tonfas is not an option.

Torpedo Throwing Spikes Double tipped, weighted throwing spikes which Strikira uses to take down distanced targets, either by throwing the spike to hit the target with the blunt middle section or to pierce with one of the spike tips. This is usually against armored targets but works as an accurate method of disarming a suspect by using it to knock a weapon out of someone’s hands.

She carries four of them in special holsters on the back of her belt, which comes with safety stops built into the holster to prevent them from poking her when not in use. These spikes can also be used as improved climbing tools as well in case of emergencies.

Mini Grappling Gun A retractable grappling gun with a high strength monofilament wire which is tested to support 320 lb in weight. She uses this to scale and climb buildings, swing across gaps and to propel herself by using the retractable function of the gun as an improvised slingshot for herself. She can even use the line to grapple onto opponents and pull them towards her or cut them off by using the line as a trip.

P220 10mm Auto Pistol Strikira’s self-defence pistol chambered in 10mm auto. Originally using a Glock 19, she upgraded to 10mm due to finding the 9mm round less effective against suspects with increased pain tolerance and against armored targets. She carries special 10mm custom made taser rounds which when fired out of her pistol, embed in the skin of her target with small micro barbs and generate a 12,000 volt shock that lasts for several seconds.

The increased stopping power and increased voltage makes up for the smaller ten round magazine compared to her previous glock magazine capacity. The gun comes with its own belt clip mounted holster, with ammo stored in an ammo pouch; with Strikira usually carrying 30 rounds on her at all times, which include a loaded magazine in the pistol; and two magazines in the ammo pouch.

Secure Cellphone Strikira own personalized and encrypted cellphone, with dual sim cards, USB/SD card connection, High resolution camera with a 100x zoom level, UV blacklight, and facial recognition software. She also has various apps installed such as an emergency service scanner, specialized wireless hacking software, internet browser and a bunch of games and podcasts to keep her entertained when on stakeouts or coffee breaks. The phone is also bluetooth, linking to earphone based comms.

Zip-ties Cuffs And Police Issue Steel Cuffs Standard issue zip-ties cuffs and police issue steel handcuffs which she keeps in a pouch on her belt. These are for restraining common non-superpowered suspects but are just as effective in restraining super-powered individuals when applied in an appropriate manner.

Small First Aid Kit A small personal first aid kit for use when she can't use her life force for self healing. The kit itself is small enough to fit in her hand, and is stored within a pouch on her belt. It carries 66 pieces of useful and valuable hospital grade medical supplies; for use in treating minor injuries.

Energy Ration Bar A quick pick me up when on the go, Strikira can pull out some small energy bars for a quick nom when her energy is low; giving her a much needed boost when on patrol and staving off hunger.

Costume

Her outfit is mainly black and yellow in colour she has a tank top with a flowing scarf and an opening in the middle just above her breasts to prevent herself from overheating. She also has an interesting pants design in which her right side is completely covered but her left leg is covered only down to her upper thigh, leaving a space and then continuing down from her lower thigh with what looks like part of a legging stocking. She has black boots which are partly covered by her pants and also has a pair of long gloves which are usually covering up to her forearm but can be extended to cover midway up her upper arms. She has a black eye mask which covers up half of her orange face marking, keeping her disguise a secret as the facial markings of a tribal wolf can be used to identify an individual. Finally, she has her black utility belt which carries her equipment and features her trademark wolf head belt buckle. Her outfit is completely made out of a composite of latex, padded leather, spandex, kevlar fibers and is form fitting.

Personality

Sassy and fun loving, Jenna keeps herself cool headed when handling the task at hand; however she loves to rib and taunt her opponents mid combat in order to throw them off their game. She also holds a strong desire to protect the weak and serve local communities, harking back to her days protecting the streets of Sydney from supervillains and criminals alike.

This extends to her role as a public defender, where she always pursues a desire to discover the truth and help her clients anyway she can; both as a lawyer and as Strikira. Jenna is a strong believer in giving everyone a fair go, even criminals and villains; who she gives ample chances of surrendering before she throws down.

She is a team player, willing to work with other superheroes and at times even supervillains if the situation warranted it. She also has abit of a bad girl attitude when it comes to intense battles, fighting with pure determination, taking big risks and pushing herself to the limit in order to defeat powerful villains; embodying the values of her own catchphrase “Do You Dare?” in order to protect civilians and save the day, even in the face of death.

1. Strikira naturally smells like a mixture of oranges and cinannon.
2. Strikira's strict code of not using her superpowers when wrestling, often results in her getting pretty banged up, resulting in a rumor that she has a hospital fetish.
3. Despite visually have powers, Strikira's abilities are the result of training and unlocking of the natural lifeforce energy that exists in the world, meaning that power suppression collars don't function the same way on her compared to more traditionally powered supers.
4. Strikira occassionally will eat vegemite on toast or rice cakes.
5. Her favourite beer is Itchy Green Pants, an IPA beer that has long since ended production.
